Top Georgia Urologist, Surgeon,
and Peyronie's Disease Innovator

Kenneth Jeffery Carney, MD, PHARM, FACS

Kenneth J. “Jeff” Carney, MD, PHARM, FACS, began consulting part-time on the development of ExoSurge Peyronie’s Disease care in 2015 and has had a monumental impact on the success of the technology.
As one of America’s preeminent reconstructive urologic plastic surgeons, Dr.Carney performed countless numbers of Peyronie’s surgery as chief or urology at Grady Memorial Hospital, often times upon cases where an initial Peyronie’s surgery by another physician triggered problematic deformities.

Medical School Education

Dr. Carney obtained a PhD in pharmacy from Mercer University in Atlanta in 1988, summa cum laude, after receiving an honorable discharge from the Air Force and graduating from Oklaloosa-Walton College with a degree in pharmacy in 1984.
After obtaining his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in 1993, Dr. Carney attended Eastern Virginia Medical School, first as a resident in plastic and general surgery, and then in urology, where he served as chief resident for his final two years. Dr. Carney spent the two years following his board certification as a urologist as a fellow at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
After concluding that oncology was not his primary urologic interest, Dr. Carney completed a two-year fellowship in Traumatic and Reconstructive Urology at the University of California, San Francisco in 2001.

Chief Urologist Grady Memorial Hospital, Emory Professor, Founder GURS-Accredited Fellowship

Dr. Carney began a 25-year tenure as an Assistant Professor of Urology at Emory University in 2001, the same year he joined the faculty of Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, one of the nation’s most renowned Level I trauma centers.
After twenty years as the chief of urology at Grady, he refined his skills in reconstructive and trauma surgery.
Dr. Carney founded a GURS-accredited fellowship in reconstructive and plastic urology in 2012 and continues to serve as the program’s director.

Premier Peyronie’s Disease Surgeon

As mentioned previously, Dr. Carney was often sought after for Peyronie’s cases because of his success performing reparative work on cases that became problematic. He also performed thousands of prototypical Peyronie’s surgery including plication, incision and graft, and Peyronie’s surgery that was accompanied by a penile prosthetic implant.
When he began working on the technology behind ExoSurge, he began exploring options for an ExoSurge / Peyronie’s surgery combination that some urologists might find more appealing for their patients.
